What is ITV Local Grassroots Sport?
ITV Local Grassroots Sport is a video sharing community specifically for
local sporting activities of all types. We built it so that people who
enjoy shooting digital video and showing it to other people have an easy and
fun place to do that. We have started with four sports - Football, Rugby,
Netball and Equestrian, but anybody can create their own group for any
sporting activity. For instance it could be extreme skiing, bungee jumping
or even tiddly winks. They all have a place on Grassroots Sport.
So, if you want to share video with your friends and family, get some
feedback on your work from a community of other videophiles, or just look at
some fun video, you should join us at Grassroots Sport.
How much does it cost to use Grassroots?
The site is completely free.
Are there any restrictions about what I can post on the site?
Yes. You can’t post pornography. You can’t post video that you didn’t create
yourself or that contains any music that you didn’t produce. You shouldn’t
post video that is really unflattering or defamatory of people or groups.
See
our Terms and Conditions for full rights and limitations.
Do I have to have a certain browser or system to use Grassroots?
Grassroots Sport works in any browser and on any system (Windows PC, Mac,
whatever). The only requirement is that you have the
Adobe Flash
Player 7
or higher on your system. The Videofactory Up-loader is Windows XP or higher
only at this time.
Can I post Grassroots video to my blog?
Absolutely, the Clip information page shows the HTML code you can copy and
paste into your blog. Be sure to copy the html EXACTLY as is, without adding
extra breaks or spaces.
Also, let us know what else you want in terms of making it easier
for you to link your video so we can continue to make improvements.

What can I do on the site?
Today, you can look at and comment on video on the public site. Become a
member and upload your own video and share it with whoever you want. Link
your video to your blog. Sort your videos by topics and check out clips on
the same topic. Comment on clips, rate them or add a webcam review.
We just keep getting better!
Do you support Dial-up connections via analogue modems ?
We
do not recommend dial-up connections for viewing video on Videofactory. We
recommend a broadband connection such as DSL or cable modem with at least
1.5Mbps downstream and 384Kbps upstream.
How much disk space do I have available and how is it calculated?
We
give you a whopping 5GB of storage for your clips and photos. It is
calculated by the size of the files you upload.
